SUMMARY:Hike with a Ranger - La Purisima Mission HSP
DESCRIPTION:Start off your day with a relaxing family hike starting at the visitor center! This leisurely nature hike will take you along the historic grounds and up the hill to the upper loop before heading back. The hike lasts about an hour and is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy nature while learning about the park and its beautiful trail system. \nWhere: Meets outside the visitor center.\nTime: 9:00 am to 10:00 am Saturday\, April 19th\nWhat to expect: Moderate family friendly hike with minor elevation gain.\nLength of hike: About an hour in length (can go shorter or longer depending upon groups pace and interest). Hike participants can drop in and out at any time during the hike.\nHike details: A leisurely ranger-led hike for an opportunity to learn about the flora and fauna of the parks unique ecosystem.\nAges: Adults and children old enough to hike a mile\, children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.\nPreparation: Bring water\, and dress appropriately for conditions.

SUMMARY:Coastal Bluffs Hike at Dangermond Preserve!
DESCRIPTION:[SOLD OUT]\nJoin us for a Land Trust Treks on Saturday\, April 19th\, 2025\, from 9 am – 1 pm\, at the amazing Jack and Laura Dangermond Preserve! Sitting on the Point Conception\, the Preserve creates one of the few largely untouched landscapes in Southern California and has some of the highest biodiversity and cultural values in the world! \nOn this 1-mile coastal bluff hike\, we will get the opportunity to learn all about the animals and plants that call the Preserve home. The trail is exposed to sun and wind. The trail is on even\, flat terrain with some sandy sections. Weather is variable\, dress in layers and be prepared for sun\, rain\, cold\, and high winds throughout the day. Bathroom access available at meeting location. No water available\, please bring your own supply of water. No dogs allowed at the preserve. \nThe Preserve is private property and only accessible through guided public-programs. All visitors must follow preserve guidelines at all times.

DESCRIPTION:Reservations are required by calling (805) 688-4515. \nFirst come\, first served. Available for ages 3 and older. No pets\, please. Free to campers or free with the $10 park entrance fee for day-use visitors. There are also miles of trails for self-guided hikes within the park. Trail maps are available at the Main Gate. \nPrivate guided walks outside of these times are also available depending upon staff availability and have a $30 group fee.

SUMMARY:Arroyo Hondo Preserve - Nature Hike
DESCRIPTION:Free docent-led nature hikes are offered at 10:00 am on Saturdays of open weekends. Visitors can also hike on their own on these days. Hikes are free of charge; however\, donations to help support Arroyo Hondo Preserve and the work of the Land Trust for Santa Barbara County are gratefully accepted. Everyone is welcome to visit the Preserve to hike\, picnic\, paint\, volunteer\, or research\, but advance reservations are required. \nOnline reservations can be made here: https://www.sblandtrust.org/arroyo-hondo-preserve-reservations/ \nDue to the sensitivity of the resources in the canyon\, dogs\, mountain bikes\, horses\, hunting\, fishing\, and campfires are not allowed. \n\nDirections to the Preserve: Traveling northbound on the U.S. Highway 101: The Preserve is about a 30-minute drive from downtown Santa Barbara. Approximately 4 miles past Refugio State Beach\, you will see a blue “Rest Area in 7 miles” sign followed closely by a yellow warning sign about falling rocks. The entrance to Arroyo Hondo is in 1/2 mile and will be visible on the right at the bottom of the hill. Make a right-hand turn into the driveway. Come down the driveway\, cross the bridge on the right and park near the barn.
